Frances Sarig Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to a member of the AWC Purdue student chapter by the Lafayette Professional Chapter in memory of founding member Frances Sarig.  A 1927 graduate of the University of Illinois School of Journalism, Frances joined the AWC parent organization of Theta Sigma Phi as a student  and continued to be an active journalist throughout her life. She died in 1990 and the scholarship in her memory was established in 1991.

Sarah Wartman was the 2009 recipient of the scholarship.

Vanguard Award

The Vanguard Award is awarded annually to recognize a media presentation that positively portrays the role of women in our society. The Lafayette AWC chapter judges the entries and recognizes the winner at its annual awards banquet in April.

Regional Media Guide
